Bob Gruen
I interviewed the wonderful Bob Gruen yesterday for the forthcoming Malcolm McLaren documentary 'Spectacular Failure'.
Gruen was born in New York City and began photographing rock stars with his shots of Bob Dylan. He served as John Lennon's personal photographer during his time in New York City. Gruen is best known for his photograph of Lennon wearing a New York City T-shirt. Bob told me about meeting Malcolm in New York in the 70's and then traveling to London and photographing the embryonic Sex Pistols. Bob continued to work with McLaren in the 80's on the Duck Rock album project.
