Last night I went to catch the end of the New York Dolls rehearsal for their upcoming American tour which starts on Jun. 07th at the Dallas, TX Gexa Energy Pavilion.
My friend and Slinky Vagabond band mate Earl Slick is playing guitar with the Dolls for this outing and they are sounding great. David Johansen and Sylvain Sylvain were kind enough to sign their respective solo records for me. Syl told me a hilarious story about Malcolm McLaren helping him get his driving license by quizzing Syl on the Traffic code, the book of statutes, regulations, ordinances and rules that govern the operation and interaction of motor vehicles in the USA.
